A little treat tonight

So I started today by eating the left over banana pancakes and added blueberries, strawberries and whipped cream they were delicious!

 My Delicious Pancakes!

Chris also told me yesterday that if I lose the weight I want to and I'm happy with myself and if none of my pants fit me anymore then he will buy me a new pair of Silvers (Jeans). I"m so excited and motivated even more now cause I love those pants. I'm also going to buy one of those dresses as a treat to myself from me.

Tonight I kinda cheated a little, but I honestly don't feel to guilty for once because it's been so long and I only went off course by maybe  100 calories so it's not sooo bad. We were at my Aunt and Uncles celebrating Stephens and Uncle Neils upcoming birthdays and I had a slice of icecream cake and some ceaser salad. I just couldn't resist. The icecream cake was soooo good. Tomorrow I'll just walk a little longer and eat a little less and I'm sure in the end it will all balance itself out.

Bananaramma

So yesterday I decided I wanted some pancakes for breakfast this morning but I know that they are not always the healthiest thing and I wanted to try something new as well. So I tried searching for banana oatmeal pancakes and I found this AMAZING one which is low in calories and tastes delicious.

Banana Oatmeal Pancakes Recipe
4 servings

1 cup flour
2 tablespoons quick cooking oatmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/4 cup nonfat milk
1 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 egg whites
1 cup sliced banana

In large bowl combine dry ingredients. Stir until blended. In separate bowl combine milk, oil, syrup and egg whites. Whisk until blended. Pour liquid ingredients over dry ingredients. Mix until blended (batter will be lumpy). If too thick, add a little more milk. Brush griddle with oil lightly. Heat griddle over medium-high heat. Spoon 1/4 cup of batter onto hot griddle. Cook just until a few bubbles begin to appear. Arrange 4 banana slices on pancake and turn. Continue to cook until bottoms are golden. Turn carefully and cook until other side is golden. Serve with maple syrup.

So if you like pancakes and bananas I encourage you to give this recipe a shot cause it is Mmm Mmm Good.

Oh and for a few extra variation Nutella would be FANTASTIC on these rather then maple syrup and I'm also going to give low fat whipped cream and strawberries a try with it. Nom Nom

Enjoy and Happy Eating!

Tuesday Thoughts

So yesterday I decreased my calorie intake to 1500 and I'm feeling great about it. I got through the holiday weekend without cheating, but I did absolutely nothing in the way of exercise so I'm not entirely happy with myself but I'm sure if I start exercising this week then I'll feel even better.

I also spent this weekend thinking about my reward for reaching my goal and I thought the idea about a dress was fantastic! So here are a few options I'm looking at (all from Victoria Secret), let me know what you think.

Now I don't know how these dresses will look on me (especially with the clingyness) so please let me know your honest opinion. Thanks!

1 Month and 7 Pounds Down

Well I've made it through the first month and all seems to be going well and I'm much happier with myself then I was when I started. I'm actually feeling pretty and even a little bit sexier and generally just feeling good. I am a little worried about the couple of weeks though, I've made it to this point many times and I always seem to go astray right about now. It's almost as though my brain goes... "well you're happy now so you can stop trying" and sadly I usually do. I then wind up eating a bunch of crap and gaining back everything I just worked hard to lose. I'm going to try really hard to overcome this and push through it I just hope I can stay focused on my goal and not lose sight of it. I'm going to try and focus not so much on the weight now but the reward at the end of it, and I thank Rachel and Jessica for their input on the pedi/mani and hairstyle or colour idea. Those always make me feel new and beautiful so I think they are the perfect way to finish of the weight loss. A whole new sexier me and I'm excited. Here's hoping that I can stay focused for the next month and continue to do as well as I am. Thanks to all of you on this journey so far for all your help and support!

Cheers!!

Feeling Good

So it's been awhile since I've posted anything simply because nothing major has been happening. Things have been going really well for me so I feel like I'd be posting the same things everyday (stay tooned though for a photo of my progress). I've now officially lost 7 pounds and I'm back down to what I was before Christmas. My pants are loose on me and my skirts for church are fitting me again. I'm starting to enjoy my walks rather then finding them a chore and forcing myself to go on them and this eating in moderation thing (who knew lol) seems to be working quite well. Monday will be my 5th week on this challenge and I think I'm going to step it up a notch (because it's all seeming to easy) and try to cut back the calories to 1500 rather then 1700. Now I don't see this as too much of a big deal since for the most part I'm about 200 cals. under my daily limit anyways but the 1500 will actually be a challenge because I won't have that extra allowance which I usually use to eat my sweets just because I can.

Now I also want to set a reward for myself once I've all the weight and possible some mini rewards along the way... 10pds... 20pds.. and the last one. The hardest part (as much as I'd love the last one to be a new wardrobe hehe) is that it can't cost too much money. Any ideas of what I can do as little rewards and the big one at the end?

Have an awesome long weekend!

Still Going Strong

So it's been almost a week since I've written anything on here but it's because not too much has changed in the past week. It's been pretty busy so I haven't had too much time to exercise unfortunately but I've been squeezing it in wherever I can and still trying to maintain healthy eating habits. Thanks to Rachel and Jessica who gave me some great tips on yummy things to try when I get my sweet tooth cravings. I've found a couple things myself which seem to work fairly well.

McCain Chocolate cakes are fantastic and for 1/4 of the cake (which is WAY more then I eat) it's less calories then most chocolate bars.

Jello Chocolate Mouse is only 35 calories for a quarter cup.

I'm also loving black berries and blue berries, they are so fresh and delicious.

Today I ate a couple things I shouldn't have (I was having a rough day, and the last few weeks have been fairly stressful) so I stopped at Timmies and tried there new caramel cafe mocha, which is absolutely delicious and for a large is 180 calories... but I only drank 3/4 of it so it wasn't too bad. I also did some baking and had a small taste of my mini cupcakes with buttercream icing and finally a sugar cookie. So I can't say I did that great today but in the end i am still about 800 calories short of my daily amount. Now i know being short on calories by that much isn't good at all especially since the bulk of the calories I had weren't good for me my goal this week is to focus more on healthier eating and not just staying below the calorie intake.

5 pounds down... 25 to go!

So this past week wasn't exactly the greatest for eating the healthiest and exercising do to busy schedules and health but I've managed to stay within my calorie intake for each day. (1700) I have definitely noticed that my appetite has decreased and my portion sizes have gotten A LOT smaller then they used to be. My pants are fitting better and even had to increase my belt notch by 1 more, yay for small victories!

This week I plan on getting back on track with my exercising and watching what I eat, not just the calories, but the fat and sugar intake as well. My biggest issue is my sweet tooth, I love ice cream, chocolate and candies so much it's always hard to say no. Although I have discovered an alternative to ice cream... gelato. I love plain vanilla ice cream (especially soft serve) and gelato is perfect for that. It's softer and creamier then regular ice cream and is only 90 calories for half a cup, which turns out is quite a lot. So hopefully if I can find more suitable alternatives to my sweet tooth (if you know of any, especially for chocolate please let me know), I'll be able to stay on track and be ready for beach weather.

On the right path....I hope

So not too much to report for the last couple of days, I'm continuing to count my calories (which seems to be going well, but almost seems to easy). Yesterday I had subway and the day before I had a small slice of dairy queen cake and a cupcake for Callie's birthday and tonight I had bali (sweet and sour chicken pieces, rice, wonton soup and spring roll)....all these yummy foods really make me feel like I'm cheating but if I'm within my calorie, so my question is...does it matter what you actually it or is it mainly the amount you eat? And if you're exercising does it matter?

On a good note, my pants are lose woohoo, so I'm doing something right!

Cheers and have fun!

Week 2 Begins...

So it is now the second day into week 2 and so far so good, but I have Callie's birthday tonight so we'll see how that goes. Yesterday was an awesome day, we made a stir fry for supper which was DELICIOUS and I added stairs into my daily walking routine. Today food wise I've been pretty good so far, but unfortunately the exercise was slowed a bit. I woke up this morning with my back pain that makes it near impossible to walk normally, let alone at a workout pace. Sadly I left my walking shoes at home, and by afternoon my pain had disappeared so I could have actually gone. Instead I'm going to do the workout I got with my Shape-Ups since that one really seems to work. I can still feel it today in my legs, butt and abs. Hopefully tomorrow I'm back into full walking capability and I'll be good to go.
